Senatorial Scholarship Information

General information you need to know:

A Senatorial Scholarship is an automatically renewable four year, need-based scholarship that is available through my office for District 31 residents.

Eligibility Requirements:

Must be a Maryland resident and reside in District 31.

Must plan to attend a Maryland college or university. Applicants may be eligible for assistance if they plan to attend an out-of-state institution only if enrolling in an academic program that is not offered in Maryland and must apply and be approved for a “unique major” by the Maryland Higher Education Commission.

Application Requirements:

In order to qualify (by Maryland law), students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by March 1st. The FAFSA form can be obtained online at: www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Application Process:

Scholarship applications will be sent to those who completed the FAFSA form in early Spring.

Applications must be received at my office by deadline posted on the application.

My independent scholarship committee will review applications.

Notification of award will be sent before the end of June.
